Resource & Reserve Estimation
Compliant, technically robust JORC (2012) Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve statements, supported by suitably qualified Competent Persons and ready for ASX and investor disclosure.
The foundation of value
Get the numbers right at the source
Every mine plan, schedule and valuation stands on the resource and reserve estimate beneath it. We deliver Mineral Resource and Ore Reserve statements for open pit and underground operations that are technically defensible, transparently reported and fully compliant with the JORC Code (2012).
From estimation methodology and classification through to the modifying factors that convert Resources to Reserves, our Competent Persons stand behind every figure.
A Reserve is only as strong as the assumptions behind it. We make those assumptions explicit, defensible and disclosable.
Scope
What our resource & reserve service covers
Mineral Resource estimation
Geological modelling, grade estimation and classification into Inferred, Indicated and Measured categories.
Ore Reserve estimation
Application of modifying factors to convert eligible Resources into Probable and Proved Ore Reserves.
Competent Person reporting
Statements prepared and signed by suitably qualified and experienced Competent Persons under JORC 2012.
Governance & review
Independent review, audits and resource governance to keep estimates current and defensible.
Reconciliation
Reconciliation of estimates against production to test and improve estimation performance.
Disclosure support
Support for ASX announcements and public reporting, including JORC Table 1 checklists.
Why it matters
Reporting built to withstand scrutiny
- Estimates prepared to the JORC Code (2012) and aligned with the VALMIN Code where relevant
- Transparent documentation of data, methodology, assumptions and classification
- Competent Person statements suitable for public and ASX disclosure
- Clear audit trail from drill hole to declared Resource and Reserve
- Independent, objective assessment free of conflicting interests
FAQ
Resources & reserves, answered
What is the difference between a Mineral Resource and an Ore Reserve?
A Mineral Resource is an in-situ concentration of material with reasonable prospects for eventual economic extraction, classified as Inferred, Indicated or Measured by geological confidence. An Ore Reserve is the economically mineable part of a Measured or Indicated Resource, demonstrated by at least a pre-feasibility study with the modifying factors applied. The Reserve is what a mine plan can actually deliver.
How is a Mineral Resource converted into an Ore Reserve?
Conversion applies the JORC modifying factors through mining-study work: mine design with dilution and mining recovery, a production schedule, processing and metallurgical performance, infrastructure, operating and capital costs, and revenue assumptions brought together in an economic model — plus legal, environmental, social and government considerations. Go Engineering delivers this as part of scoping-to-DFS study workflows, so the Ore Reserve is the output of engineering rather than an assertion.
What is JORC (2012)?
The Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves — prepared by the Joint Ore Reserves Committee of AusIMM, the Australian Institute of Geoscientists and the Minerals Council of Australia, and mandatory for public reporting by ASX-listed companies. Its principles of transparency, materiality and competence underpin every statement we produce.
Who can sign off a resource or reserve statement?
Only a Competent Person under the JORC Code: a member or fellow of AusIMM or the AIG (or an overseas Recognised Professional Organisation) with at least five years of experience relevant to the style of mineralisation, type of deposit and the activity being reported. Our statements are prepared and signed by Competent Persons who meet those requirements.
